Might you have an old pair of Gucci trousers quietly glittering at the back of your wardrobe? If they're from the spring/summer 1999 collection, they are sure in demand. Die-hard Gucci fan Petra Hirtzel has taken an ad out in the September issue of Vogue in a bid to find a pair of the crystal-embroidered pants or pearl-encrusted jeans that she decided against buying when she snapped up almost everything else from that collection in Beverly Hills five years ago. Now, she is offering to pay the retail price, plus a 1,000 Euros reward, to whoever can satisfy her craving. "I was unsure whether to buy them because they were so expensive when I first saw them - about $8,000," says the German fashionista, who is ideally hoping to find a size 42 but will settle for 40 or 44.
