Anyone read this book? I just got done watching the movie, I can't figure out why King would let someone absolutely butcher his book, the end of that movie was pitiful.

I loved the movie.
Then I read the book, and yes... they went Hollywood on that ending. The book is a lot better, as it usually is, I prefer imagining things myself. The movie is really well made (over his own script) the way they pictured how this guy was trapped inside his mind and the alien controlled the body and most of his mind, that's really tough to pass form writing to a screen.Comment

Re:: Dreamcatcher...
I read this book before I watched the movie. The book had me freaked out at the beginning but wasn't as good halfway through to the end. I definately liked the book more than the movie but I think it was a pretty good conversion. There was just alot more detail in the book of course. Did anybody last long enough to see all of Kingdom Hospital? I watched the first one and decided it was lame ass and didn't watch the rest."There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Gr8 Pumpkin."Comment

As with most of Kings books,the film versions usually end up very poor,with the exception of misery,green mile,shawshank and stand by me.
The book dreamcatcher was good,havent seen the film,have no intention of either.Comment

The detail and the imagery that king goes into with telepathy and being inside the mind are outstanding in the book. Something a movie could never touch onComment
