"The busy director has apparently started to work on a screenplay with Alvin Sargent and while no new villain is certain, he does like to name drop. Characters such as The Green Goblin II, The Vulture, and Kraven have been thrown around in recent interviews, such as his most recent with USA Today where he says, "I'm trying to figure out what (Peter Parker) is going to be learning on this next adventure," Raimi says. "Once I know this journey and the conflicts to put in, I would choose the villain that best represents those conflicts." He seems to be steering clear of the overwhelming fan-boy favorite, Venom, but considering his recent decision to remake THE EVIL DEAD, I believe anything can happen."
It sucks that Venom will most likely not be in it since he is my favorite (Carnage also), but I guess it would be better than him just throwing him in there just because we all want it and for no real purpose
