yeah i had an oscar and pacu that were monsters. when they died they were easliy 5 pounds a pop. 2 of em in a 70 gallon tank in our livingroom. at the end they would only eat fish and pinky mice. the mice you feed snakes and lizards.

the oscars are very very carnivorous. they will try to eat anything smaller than them, and frankly i dont wanna see how big it would get outside a tank. i have seen pacus hit well over 20 pounds. even epcot center has a tank of pacus that are all well over 10 pounds. those fish will grow and grow if not kept in a smaller tank.

I personally haven't seen a Pacu here but people say they catch them all of the time. As for the oscars, they hit everything from bread to a lure that is 5 times their size. They even hit shinners that are as big as them. I haven't seen a 5 pounder yet, but there are a lot of haitians here that eat them. gross, if you ask me
