I guess it would depend upon your personal needs... I could not see myself using anything other than a jog wheel with vinyl mode, so the 200s are out of the question.

i dont really see the need for using the vinyl mode on the jog wheel unless you are scratching.. but thats just me.. i have one 800 and one 200.. like them both..and use the cdj mode on the 800... love the looping and effects on the 200 tho.

I guess I am just used to cueing my CDs the same way as my vinyl.

Its when some minor detail of a product doesnt' work or is scratched or looks bad. It gets fixed and sold as a "refurbished" product. Not new but good as new I suppose. And when it's done from a company who is an authorized dealer of that product, well it's usually a pretty good job done by the makers of that product. I think.

Never thought of it, but it's a better alternative than an occasion, I think.

there are tons of companies that specialize in selling "refurb" gear.... www.tigerdirect.com comes to mind. had a friend get a 30" flat screen from them for $600.... works like a charm.

well, stopped by the store today on my way home from DC...small place, so if you're looking for a regular store you'll miss it

only managed to get one 1000 though...stupid damn bank debit cards and their daily spending limits have to order the other one and have it shipped

                        a) it's boxed like it's brand new (packaged fully, Pioneer box, all accessories, manual, warranty card)

                        b) Looks brand new (didn't notice any major cosmetic flaws)

                        c) 90-day service warranty according to them (but the original cards say 1 year, so unless maybe when the serial # is checked and comes up as refurbished...); so that means one could still take it to an authorized center and have it fixed within those times should it suddenly turn horrendously sour.

                        d) These come from Pioneer direct; no secondhand stores refurbishing them.

Playing around with it a bit so far and noticed no major problems; few CD's I tried played fine. Veo I gotta hand it to you, this store was a fantastic find. Definitely gets my approval.

Refurbished also can apply to any of the following (Dell is good for these as well): last-minute cancelled orders, previously ordered (ordered, shipped, customer opened, but never "used", although powering on, opening of stuff, etc. may have happened), certified as refurbished (factory tested, making sure all parts are functional and in good working order), & scratch 'n dents. Great way to save a lot of $$$$ and quality still is there (compared to buying brand new, or for this case, used off of some random (ex)-DJ...)
