i have seen the difference. every kid i grew up with who listened to nothing but biggie and NWA and more turned out shitty. not one of them have a decent job. they all talk ghetto and have zero manners. nothing like being 28 years old and loading cars at IKEA. while every other kid who didnt listen to it had the perspective to realize that bling isnt what its all about, did well in school, and got a job. just look at the concert goers at a rap concert vs a dave matthews concert. sure the DMB kids will be burning, but they are a lot more pleasurable to deal with than the idiot who needs to have his nextel at top volume on the train and yells ""SON< WHATS UP SON"" ,. just a social view of mine.

AND THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE> so dont jump there.

IMO, the only good thing that came out of that was a good bit for Dave Chapelle. Rap sucks IMO, except for the old days of Run DMC who rapped about shoes rather than killing someone. Personally, I can't stand rap, but to each their own. WORD!!!!!!

So what you're saying is that because everyone you know that listened to rap turned out bad then that automatically means that it's 'destroying the youth'. I know you have a degree in accounting or whatever it is, but you had to have taken some classes in statistics that would've shed some light on topics such as population and sample sizes. I like you Sean, but you've got your head way up your ass on this one. Don't get me wrong, you're more than entitled to your opinion, but at least address it in the knowledgable and intelligent way that you do on other topics.

rap is much much different then it was "back in the day". like any music with a vocalist, image has always played a part of the music. but you cant tell me some of the stuff from the early to mid 90's was some raw music and isn't this corperate garbage like enimen and lil john and all that other shit. how can dr. dre sleep at night.

not gonna change my mind. sorry. this shit is terrible and i see little 8 year old kids calling the girls they know bitches and hoes. and this is in a somewhat wealthy neighborhood. like i said, go a eminem concert and talk to 100 ppl , then go to a DMB concert and talk to 100 ppl there. ask em about goals, education, dreams, activity, etc, and i guarantee you would see.

seriously i had this kid on the train on saturday who must have had a friend on the line, but the goddamn asshole had to play some song over his nextel walkie talkie for 10 minutes.
