im going to try to be as brief as possible on this:
its very obvious that alot of peoples view on rap in this thread is skewed by what they catch on BET or the local pseudo hip hop clowns you see at your mall. THAT IS NOT WHAT RAP IS ABOUT!, rap music is a beautiful thing, im not sure what bullshit hip hop you guys are listening to where they all talk about platinum chains and expensive cars, but rap is as wide as a genre as electronic music. check out common, mos def, dead prez, talib kwali, rappers that talk about the struggle black people went through and how we can help the black community, alot of it is positive and they lay it down with a sick flow. hip hop is also global, i listen to alot of british and french hip hop as well as the stateside stuff check out: roots manuva, jehst, super sayin crew. Also be sure to check out styles of beyond and jedi mind tricks.
