    smooth mp3 splitting

I have used a few mp3 splitters and noticed after you split them and burn to cd you can notice when it goes from track to track (not meaning the 2 second gap). Does anyone know of a way/program to do it smoothly? I used to use Nero, right click on mp3, audio properties and add a track split but that way takes forever.

    Re: smooth mp3 splitting

there's no such thing as "smooth" MP3 splitting...MP3's by design utilize a 2-3 frame beginning to write the header/ID tag...so even burning Disc-At-Once would still give a small gap at the track split after splitting a larger/whole file..

The best way is to either make a CUE file for the MP3 (see this thread on that), OR if you do the track split in Nero and want to just make random marks for marking purposes, zoom in afterward all the way and that should at least make the editing of splits a lot faster (i.e. make random marks, then go back and edit the times after zooming all the way in on the beginning)..

Final method...convert to WAV then split it out on Soundforge, or whatever WAV editing software you might use...

with sound forge you can copy/paste each track together removing the gap and even add a a X-fade to make it smooth. this way is time consuming as well, and you need a small bit of wav editing experience but it's worked for me in the past.

cd architect........(bundled with soundforge). no cutting, no copying, no pasting. just drop the set in the audio pool, right click the mouse where you want to add a track. case closed.
