I'm curious to see what impact, if any, Rove's change in role will have. I find it hard to believe that Bush would keep his right-hand man out of the policy-making process just because his formal role has changed. Bush has always mixed his policy goals with his political wrangling -- to the detriment of the country, in my opinion -- and I don't see him stopping now.
The McClellan exit obviously presents a different situation, but as to Rove, I see this as a symbollic change only.
I wonder who will take over for McClellan. Who would want that job right now? He's been taking a beating every day since the Terri Schiavo fiasco. I don't care how republican you are, taking that job right now is not a great career move and is, IMO, the equivalent of falling on the sword...
