    Darker, depressing ambient/lounge?

    Hey peeps,

Since the last lets say half year i've gotte more into chillout, lounge and ambient. But well most of what you hear is quite happy, cheerful stuff. I like some really nice uplifting cd's but i need something completely different as well to keep things in balance.

So far i have only found these depressing, negative, darker lounge/triphop/ambient pieces:

    - Portishead - Portishead and Dummy
    - Massive Attack - Mezzanine and 100th Window
    - Spylab - This Utopia
    - Alex Cortiz - Volume 1

If somebody could give me more names it would be appreciated. I just need to drift away on dark atmospheres, just have to.

Do you already have the Live at Roseland NYC album from Portishead? Imo their best album. Beth Gibbons is by far the most sexy tormented chick

Agreed. You need the down times to appreciate the happier stuff.

I would sugest you check Global Communication and Sigur Ros, not too dark but melancholic and laid back

Can someone share that Starkid set? I've been looking for it for ages

Try music by the band "Deaf center", very dark and moody score-like music!
