Re: Bush wants to lower Gas prices

^^yea, after they go up first...

Gas under $2/gallon may happen like one more time (MAYBE) but that's really it. It's never going down to those old $1/$1.50 prices that we as younger people/kids used to enjoy, unless some absolute, ridiculously huge amount is drilled for (Arctic) or found elsewhere and can be excavated reasonably...the Reserves won't be extraordinarily tapped, but may just need to be if people start getting too upset as the prices go up (short-term fix).

It continues to amaze me how shit can go up here and there and almost no one complains, yet the minute gas prices jump $.50 everyone's suddenly in an uproar (yes the media helps to fuel this, since it's about as easy of a story as possible to report on w/o hardly doing any real work), but still...

Even though it'll hit the shitter, right now US national average is at 2.92..expect that to hit probably around 3.15/3.20 during the summer at this rate, if it doesn't creep near that by Memorial Day Weekend next month when a ton of people hit the road and start traveling...which should by then make it a new all-time US high.

didn't our government have a way to keep gas prices down back in the 70's and 80's. they need to re-instate that again to keep the oil companies from getting so way too fat...as we all know they are making more than ever at the cost of us.

no, OPEC caused the spike of the 70's by cutting off production...then initiatives were put in place to supposedly make sure this never happens.

Honestly though, today's prices by inflation aren't as expensive as the old prices were if they were adjusted for today's inflation prices.

$3/gallon is actually fairly reasonable...it's the fucking morons who work shitty jobs who can't afford the added $5/week burden
