when i was twelve years old cassette tapes were the coolest thing. i used to ride my bicycle all over town and look for tv shops. well i'd go in their dumpsters after they would close and take all the little speakers out of any tv's or stereo's they had discarded. what i would do is get these large cardboard boxes and cut holes out and put all these speakers in there. i'd secure them with twist ties or in some cases nuts-n-bolts. i had like 3 or 4 of these in my room each with about 8 speakers. it looked so stupid, but i'll be damned if my stereo didn't rock louder than my moms. i had all the Alice in Chains tapes back then. even some singles cassettes. wow. memories!
I´m seeing them on the 26th of May with Tool.
My understanding is that they´ve recruited a little known guy as the main vocalist, but they will have guest vocalists, at leat in the european tour. They´ve recently done one-off shows with Phil Anselmo from Pantera and even with Maynard from Tool.
From what I´ve read in their site "european fans are in for a real treat". Well, since they´re playing with Tool here, it´s not hard to imagine that I´ll be seeing Maynard singing some Alice tunes!
there's no replacement for layne. i'm sure they'll be fun though.
agreed 100%. the guy had an amazing voice... one of the best vocalists for me. but still, if they come anywhere close, i'll go and see what they're up to now
Layne was Alice in Chains. Without him it's just a cover band.
Jenks, I kinda agree with on that. AIC is a great & Layne was there voice but jerry cantrell was the mastermind behind it all. I don't know if I like the fact that there touring like this or not. If they would come around here I would probably go see them just for the fact. But it really does not give justice to what AIC really was at the time.
