[DOWNLOADS] - Jesse Somfay & John Digweed?

First of all I want to say a HUGE thanks to Jesse Somfay for putting together a brilliant set for us to host. I'm a big fan of Jesse's production work and the few sets I've managed to track down with his name attached to them have been nothing short of brilliant. That being said nothing could have prepared me for the exclusive set that Jesse threw together for us. I spoke with him about possibly doing a special download for us and he was more enthusiastic and excited about it than anyone else we've ever approached. It took Jesse no time at all to lay down an over 4 HOUR mix that defies genre and boundaries and incorporates some classics, some familiar tunes, and some brand new tracks. Again, massive thanks to Jesse and I hope you all will do the same after checking out this mix. I broke the set up into 2 parts to make it easier for those of you that are still transferring files via carrier pigeon. Make sure to read Jesse's bio below.

The other set we're hosting happens to be something that we got our hands on which is completely different from the Digweed LaDune set we've all heard and debated about. This one comes from a VERY RELIABLE source (I can't say any more than that) and we have, as a mod team, concluded that this MUST be Digweed. Just straight up dirty, dark, nastiness like you used to hear. Compare the two sets and make sure to tell us what you think.

    Jesse Somfay
"Born April 4th, 1986 in Kitchener, raised in the towns of Fergus and Elora, and still currently living in Elora, Ontario, Canada, Jesse has been exposed to music and the arts throughout his childhood. He has always experimented with various instruments including guitar, piano and percussion. He was exposed to music at an early age, his parents enjoyed listening to the music of Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Kitaro, Enigma and other new age composers. Jesse enjoyed the new sounds, melodies and rhythms he was hearing. This combination of early musical experimentation and exposure to emotional music rooted itself in Jesse's mind and would later appear as he found electronic dance music.

Jesse discovered electronic dance music in the mid 1990's listening to the radio. Although this was commercial dance, it was a beginning which would eventually lead Jesse to DJing and production. Jesse began experimenting with electronic production in the late 1990s. Although it was nothing serious, it did help feed his sense of rhythm which would continue to grow.

In 2000, Jesse gained his first set of turntables and began buying records he had heard on online radio shows in the late 1990's. He played hard techno for a couple of years but his earlier musical preferences lead him to produce and play more progressive and emotive music. With these many years of experimentation, Jesse's music has caught the ears of many with his emotional, psychedelic, progressive and moving tracks and long, epic DJ sets full of energy and emotion. He is always being inspired by new and old music and constantly broadening his horizons with the focus constantly on creativity, innovation and emotion.

To this day Jesse is continuously growing, learning and discovering an endless number of new musical possibilities. He holds steadfast to his belief that genre barriers should play no part in his productions and sets. You'll never know what to expect from him but you can be assured it will be total quality and furiously heady and intense. For Jesse, music is not about trying to fit in or follow trends but creating totally new experiences, constantly evolving and morphing journeys, which follow no guidlines and are never held behind barriers."

mmmm...might hafta take the under on this being digweed.

                            2 Reasons:

                            1. I have never heard diggers do this kind of introduction
                            2. The mixing is shaky
                            Music makes the soul strong.
