hahah, well i gotta say philosophy's use is mainly limited to the scientific realm, but as policymaking, research and development are also sciences, philosophy has a big impact on it. I myself use certain aspects a lot, thoug be it not on the level of getting lost too much in debates which make you lose the real world out of sight. To me it's rather about science constantly subjecting itself to a review, thus trying to detect its own deficiencies and correct or 'better' itself. To be able to do that, I need to develop a referential thinking cadre from which to work...which I obviously draw from scientific philosophy
