This is perhaps one of the most daunting tasks that I have been asked to accomplish in some time. I have been presented with the challenge of introducing you, the audience, to one of the most influential DJ/producers that I have ever heard. To state that this man has been my guide - the epitome of all that I hold dear within this musical medium - would be akin to comparing my words to the poetic prose of Milton. In short, the parallel is crude.
In the world of the mundane, I could take the worn-torn path of the common man. I could dictate the facts that each could find on your own with little to no exertion. I can recite Cass? statistics with the apathetic manner in which most are familiar: Cass was born in London in the year of 1973; he was exposed to a wide variety of music at an early age and made a name for himself in Sydney; has traveled the world over, and over again, exposing the masses to his twisted union of tech-house, progressive, and breaks; he has managed many record labels in his day including: Flying Rhino, FIRE, and Sabotage?. But, alas, these facts offer little in the way sustenance, and will only leave you hollow inside, unfulfilled.
In exchange, I offer these raw, unsheltered, vehicles of emotion to convey my thoughts: dark, swank, queer, sensual, bent, primal, twisted, skewed, fucked, waylaid, insatiable, unconventional, alluring, tranquility, deviancy, foreboding, captivating, fixation, addiction, domination, submission, resurrection, ascension, validation. Perhaps their simplicity can persuade you to attend where my feeble rhetoric cannot.
