believe or not my friend's wife walked down the isle to the imperial march from star wars, she's not even in to that kind of stuff but it was still hilarious.

          Stir it up- Bob Marley
actually lots of Bob Marley tunes set a perfect vibe

funny, since she and I were thinking about using the Imperial March for when our mothers get introduced. They wont like it but it would be funny as hell

I actually wrote into the contract with our DJ that if he played the chicken dance, the hokey pokey or the Macarena, he wasn't getting paid. He was permitted, but not encouraged, to play YMCA or Electric Slide if requested.

Anal to set it out like that? Yep. The way I looked at it, though, we were trying to create a certain atmosphere, and all of my friends and family standing in a big circle flapping their arms was the polar opposite of that atmosphere and would be actually detract from the evening.

As it turns out, though, wedding DJs are wedding DJs, and you're going to have to endure some cheese no matter what you do. Although we did give him a list of stuff we wanted to hear, he didn't play most of them, and instead played requests from the folks that were actually dancing, who evidently love dancing to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" for the billioneth time. At the end of the day, though, we had fun, and I think our guests did, too, so that's really all that matters.

He did NOT, however, play any of the "banned" songs.

My Dad is a minister, and he once did a wedding where they played "Send in the Clowns" in lieu of the wedding march. They were a pretty funny couple...
