Hey all just been listening to digweed's Sydney Gu and Fuck what a cd. I think this would be better than his LA effort. Then i thought has anybody been to a gu night where there was a cd made from it. For example was anyone from this board there on the night when digweed played in sydney or any of the other cd's. And how was it??

i still think gu19-la was better than sydney.

Yep I was at Bedrock for the Tenaglia London GU party. Although it wasn't officially billed as the GU party.
Back then bedrock members would get an e-mail about the forthcoming party - I remember i got one saying 'very special guest tonight danny tenaglia'. None of my mates were up for it so I travelled to london on my own , and tenaglia amazed me and the crowd - even digweed was dancing about 5 feet away from me. I ended up dancing next to the GU fat lads, couldnt believe it was them - one of them said to me 'watch out pal this guy has the next GU'
Tenaglia started by giving a little speech on the mike, saying how glad he was to be in london etc, then he opened with the trancy bit from Jam & Spoon - Stella - nearly shot my load then and there.
All night he was layering the vocal samples from green velvet - flash over most of the tracks, probably the best club night i've ever been to - and i was all alone!Comment

cool story greg.
i was eating a lot of acid when GU019LA came out so for me those discs are very special.
but even cooler was a long long time ago, i got home from work one night, and my roomate had come home with a new digweed cd. it was GU006SYDNEY. this was the first time we heard of GU, but we were certainly hooked after that. very special for the times indeed.Comment

All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soon
