Re:: New Trojan. Slowing me down ...

I have had the same problem, or similiar problems. Trojan, I don't know. Maybe a different program which is installed much like a virus, but it actually gives another computer an open port (or backdoor) to your harddrive, so they can go in and look around. Another way they can steal peoples identity, by finding passwords to checking accounts or othe financial transactions like ebay, or paypal, or Amazon.com.

They can also install a bug in your machine to read your keystrokes, which is how they get your passwords to online banking, etc. They can sit there and watch everything happening on their monitor, as if they were sitting next to you in your bedroom.

Sounds spooky I know, but it is true. I have read so much on this crap lately.

This link will give you a quick read on spyware and some downloads if you interested.

This link will give you a forum with threads to read whatever you want.

This link is one of the threads from that forum, specifically on hackers and identity theft. Because you don't have to be anymore than someone with online banking, or credit card numbers from purchases to get hacked. Check it out.

Those links should work. If not search thru the 'dslreports' site. There is alot there and links too I think.

Adsf, thank you for the comments on the thread I started about the same topic back on the 21 July. Your tips are appreciated.

Re:: New Trojan. Slowing me down ...

Im in Atlanta on the North side. Live in Gwinnett. How bout yourself?

BTW, what is 'housecall'. And, did you check the thread links I posted above to help remove the virus problems. I did have one come into another computer of mine, and it took a special 'stinger' application to remove it.

I think in some cases though, it may not be a virus at all, but a program designed to allow someone access to your machine to see if you have something good for them to take from you without your permission or even worse, even knowing they are there checking you out. The microsoft updates first allerted me to this problem of programs to give access thru a back door to your machine. I heard things on the news about it, and sometimes the viruses that we here about also deposit this extra program as well as their goal, but hoaxing you by the virus as if it were the real problem. The virus is only a trick. You remove the virus but not the open portal (or backdoor program) to your information on your harddrive. And remember all they want are passwords (or your keystrokes) so they can get into your financial stuff.

            I HATE THESE GUYS!!!
