So who here has seen Depeche Mode on their recent tour? I don't mean the most recent leg since they are already on their third leg of the tour. I saw them back on our anniversary in November at the Sports Arena in San Diego. Excellent show and we had a lot of fun.
And if this is an old topic, too bad. I'm new here. ha ha.
I just saw them Sunday night...good show, but Dave Gahan didn't sound too good for the first half of the show. Seemed like he wasn't really able to hit his notes early, but somehow managed to later in the night. And this was coming off hearing that they had stopped a show early last week in Chicago I think because of his voice.

Yeah. He cut the show early because of his voice and another concert was canceled/postponed as well. He got laryngitis and apparently is doing better but not 100%. Glad I caught them early and they did pretty good too.
And Kobe, we know about that mix, it came out back in January. Duh. Good shit though.
As far as I've known, Gahan has not been able to sound like his recorded self for the last couple tours. I can't stand that. Why can Gore sound like his recorded self and Gahan cannot. I'd like to see them but figure that would probably ruin my night.
Saw them a few months ago in Antwerp: quality concert!
Btw, who is doing the warming up act over there? I hope it's not those four asswipes from NYC we've had over here. My ears still bleed from that crap...
For those in Europe who've missed the tour: DM is closing act on Sunday at Rock Werchter (biggest festival in Europe) this Summer. www.rockwerchter.be for more info.
Depending on the leg of the tour, and what section of the leg, they've had numerous bands doing the opening acts. Bands have included Goldfrapp, The Bravery, She Wants Revenge and a couple of other bands.
that album is superb, i missed their gig at wembley arena a few months ago. one band that i really want to hear live.
i saw radiohead on friday. i have to say: best ever live performance. visually, aurally. perfection. i am keenly awaiting their new album and Thom Yorke's foray.
sidenote: i bumped into the bravery in my local thai restaurant. they took up three tables and brought their own cans of coke.
