The IPO is going to be delayed...
they messed up some filings with the SEC and now they're doing a stock buyback, etc....

it's definitely going to be way overpriced.....$135 a share

Google is cool and all...but not a good stock at that price!

My opinion: it's great. Has a lot of good ideas to organize mail, and the 1gb limit is perfect for using as storage. Oh, and hotmail wants me to pay for lousy 250mb? with ads? yeah right...

dolt. Gmail will track you through your adventures on the www and your emails. They then proceed to farm all kinds of info/keywords associated with your email address which they then are free to sell to whomever. Hmmmm well lets say you tell a buddy that you just downloaded the new britney spears album....Who do you think would be interested in the keywords britney spears, mp3, soulseek? riaa. Correct. Do what you please be happy about 1881234 terabytes of bullshit email you can store. I'll stick to my current accounts.

        have a read at this.

We note that in one recent case, the Federal Bureau of Investigation obtained a court order compelling an automobile navigation service to convert its system into a tool for monitoring in-car conversations.
              From Palmers link.

That is well out of order.

gmail is simply the best internet based email system there is. if you think that hotmail or yahoo can't track or read your stuff, you're surely mistaken.

I think this link was posted here a while back ago, but it's still definitely one of the more interesting anti-gmail things I've read so far:

Read it, it'll at least catch your attention.

                          spyware ridden bullshit.
what? spyware? of course it has ads... just like hotmail, yahoo or any other "free" email service. At least they are only text ads, but that's not spyware. Worried about security? then don't use a free mail for important stuff...

My opinion: it's great. Has a lot of good ideas to organize mail, and the 1gb limit is perfect for using as storage. Oh, and hotmail wants me to pay for lousy 250mb? with ads? yeah right...

Hotmail is now upgrading free accounts to 250MB and charging for 2GB accounts - obviously aware of the competition... I'm quite happy with that now, was getting a bit tired of limiting emails to 2MB. :?

Although I'm still waiting to hear back from Gmail...

Just keep your cookies clean and encrypt things up if you're so paranoic about it. You can't feel secure anout anything on the net, even less for *free* things...

As long as it's not very important, personal stuff... i'll stay happy with my gmail
