Your absolutely right, you have no idea what we drug one of those through in the Mississippi river bottoms. Someone bought one when the Geo's and Festiva first came out and we beat the shit out of it. Probably still driving around somewhere. Funniet looking car (don't know what a dart loks like) but reliable for a ford POS!
i was also seriously considering buying a mazda 3 ..i needed something that would b reliable and be maintanence free for 3 years.. instead i bought a house.. im buying a car at the end of the year hopefully . the one i drive now is a POS . i really want to buy a 5oo series BMW but i dont know if the payments will fit my budget... i guess ill have to wait and see
IS / ES On the same platform ? Not sure about that, I know the ES and the Camry are identical except for body mouldings and a few extra gadgets on the ES to give it that "Lexus" edge. The IS is so much smaller even in length. Rides on a totally different chasis as far as I know.

my subaru wrx is great..fast and furious when u need it to be, yet can be extremely economical, got 30mpg last tank. also not extremely expensive. picked one up that was a year old had 40K+ miles on it for $15K. i've had it three years, milelage is up to 120K, and only had to do routine maitenance on it (knock on wood)
