This months special guest star: MASHTRONIC
It was back in 2004 when the European production project Mashtronic first came together. Three like minded individuals who's love of electronic music become a collective template for their fusing elements funk, disco, acid, electro and progressive to create a unique style of house music.
Matthew Bradley (real name: Mathias Bradler) was born in 1976 in Germany and it was in the city of Cologne that his love for house music was born. From the age of 18 he began DJing, earning a reputation for his twisted house sets, before moving his attention to production. Cid Inc (real name: Henri Hurtig) was born the same year in Sweden, and in the early 1990's he discovered production on an old Commodore Amiga and early Tracker programs. It was this and his love for electronic music that would change his life forever. Wanting to develop his skills further, he studied sound engineering in 2001 which has enabled him to spend the last few years contributing to development of the Mashtronic project. Tom Level, the final member of the outfit was influenced by old school techno and the work of early synthesizer musicians such as Jan Hammer, but over the years would find himself drawn to everything from acid to psytrance, eurodance and even industrial. It's this diversity and range of influences that carries through to the overall background of the Mashtronic project.
When their first self titled EP was released in July 2004 on the German label Chicaria, it quickly became a success in the club scene, and was subsequently followed by a second EP later that year. The second EP caught the ear of Desyn Masiello whom featured the track ?Supernova' in his much vaunted Essential Mix, and followed up by signing the track for his own label Sex On Wax.
Whilst Mashtronic had been busy remixing for artists such as Sonique and Johnjon & Chopstick, it was their remix of Chable & Bonnici's ?Ride' on Alternative Route that brought them to the attention of many. Coupled with single and EP projects on labels including SR2 and the Canadian label Eyezcream, plus well received offshoot projects such as Tronic Inc and Discoglass ensured 2005 provided the foundation for what is to come.
As we enter 2006, Mathias and Henri have launched their new label Mashtronic Records, have completed a series of exciting new original productions, and produced remixes for labels that include Nascent Recordings, Proton Music, Oven Ready, Deeper Substance and the prestigious Bedrock label run by John Digweed, who himself is a huge fan of their work. In addition to the exciting live sets and radio show they have planned, and it's safe to say the sound of Mashtronic will be heard for a long time to come.
The show starts with an hour mix by me, featuring artists: 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff, D-Nox & Beckers, Kasey Taylor & Chris Meehan, Group Therapy & Andy Cato.
Mashtronics guest mix is rolling after that including some hot new mashtronic stuff!
Check it out!
