            I got a Rebel XT back in November and have not once regretted it. Sometimes I'm like "Damn, did I just take that picture."

            Only thing is, I still have no clue how to use the manual settings (ISO, white balance...that kind of stuff). I know what they mean, I just don't know what conditions call for what setting. And it seems everytime I take it off of "Auto" the picture doesn't come out because the shutter speed is wrong and I can't figure out how to change it. Every picture comes out blurry as shit. I've tried reading the manual and adjusting the shutter speed with the little dial, but nothing happens. Oh well, I wasn't expecting to pick it up and be a pro...I'm having fun taking pictures of whatever. Although there doesn't seem to be anything to take pictures of around here.

            I got mine at Best Buy on a 0% financing offer. Noting till 01/08...couldn't pass it up. I've wanted a camera forever and figured this was my chance.

                Read the manual bro.... I just figured out a boat load about it yesterday.... I'm ALL about Manual since i got fairly decent with it on my G5. So I haven't used auto yet on the XT, took a few manual photos yesterday, will post them shortly in the DS forum

                    it would be a waste to use auto settings on a SLR. The best way I have gotten familiar with the settings is to take multiple pictures of the same thing with the same lighting and so on. For each photo, change the setting on the camera. Once you are done, you can see which was the best for you and then begin learning from there. Or, just RTFM and STFU.

                        Yeah, I tried that the other day. Took a couple pictures of the same thing and messed with the aperture. I have read the manual...I just didn't get that much out of it. Probably just me.
