but belive me all the calls Larrionda did where right, i?m sure some one else from a neutral country will agree with me
No.. I don't agree with you mate.... I'm really quite shocked Larrionda didn't give a red card to the crossbar for keeping an Italy goal out... I'm not joking. The US, aside from properly marking Italy's lone goal played a better match... not opinion, fact.

I would love to see the headlines in Italian newspapers today. I am sure the word "shame" will be in every sentence. Thanks to the USA for making this happen, priceless.
IMO, they were all good calls, except Pope´s 2nd yellow card.
The straight red for Mastroenni was justified, since he goes in with his foot up straight at Pirlo´s ankle. According to FIFA rulings, that type of tackle is reason for a straight red. If you wanna blame someone, blame FIFA, not the referee for following their guidelines.
As for the rest, an ugly but intense game, I´m glad the Italians were made to eat some humble pie, to me the most impressive thing was the USA´s physical condition...they played with 9 for so long and still they kept running up and down like mad.
shame on de rossi, disgraceful. hope he's done for the WC with suspension, would be deserved.
Unknown about a suspension, but here is some coverage regarding the matter from an Italian news site.
Lippi - ?I haven?t spoken to him personally yet. I?m letting him stew in his own juices,? said the Coach in today?s Press conference. ?Daniele put himself in this situation, but it?s one that started long before last night.?
It's not like he grabbed his balls and sucked his dick. It's not like he gave the Saudis the original copy of the Constitution to use as toilet paper. It's not like he gave away the secret recipe to the Colonel's chicken. .
italy vs usa... imo the refs calls were tough but he was justified. according to fifa guidelines he did his job although he was very strict. my dad was a fifa ref and he retired before the 1990 world cup and both of his linesmen ended up refing there. i asked him about those calls and he said that they were hard but within the guidelines. italy plays like shit when they think they are so much better than the other team and they usually manage to win. shameful though...
fra vs kor - france is the most overrated team to ever appear in any tournament. they should not have won the 98 wc or the 00 euro. i hope they go home.
brazil... they coast until they have to play. ronaldo and ronaldinho play like shit. ronaldo should make room for robinho, much better right now..
and now, ukraine trying to avenge their loss to spain... lets see what sheva can do...

wow your dad was a fifa ref pretty cool. yeah the decisions were tough but definatley the correct ones. Overall the standard of refing has been excellent imo

I'm skeptical, but your Paps would know seeing that he is a former Ref. However, my argument would be as follows:
LARRIONDA has documented and fluent history with not being consistent in his calls. Much so that he was suspended from officiating in the last Cup matches. It was apparent in the US/Italy match. The 1st half of the match was obviously strict while the second was much more lax.
All that matters is what's coming up next. We've got Ghana and you've got the Czechs to worry about.
man, work is killing me! Didn't get to see the Ukraine game.. oh well. But I will not miss that later rounds, that's for sure.
Yea, I have to say that as much as the US red card seemed like a 'make up' call, I thought it was justified as a red card, as it was an extremely dangerous tackle, studs out, nailing both his ankles.
I'm hoping Spain plays well again today.
France were very disappointing. I predict France wins their last match, qualifies in second place, and defeats Spain in the first knockout stage though (as much as I was Spain to go far).
I also sense if Italy finishes second in their group, they could give Brazil a run for their money, although it would be an awesome match.
I hope Ukraine makes it out of their group, it seems they will.

of course any country is going to complain about any adverse calls, and the first one to blame would be the ref. was he a little too eager to draw those cards out? was he way eager to do that? yes i think so too, at least on pope. mastroeni deserved it the way he came at pirlo. however all players had already seen how strict he was and especially pope, knowing he already had a card should have stayed away from hard fouls.
the us did great standing up to the squadra azzura with 9 on 10 especially with players like del piero and gilardino who are so good at exploiting the extra space available... on the same note, i did not see gilardino at all in the second half. i know he dropped back a bit but he was inexistent...
on for spain now, they should destroy tunisia... too bad raul is out... cheers
