Yup Portugal - Holland was ugly to say the least. But so was Beckham losing his lunch along the sidelines.

+1 We were a sack of shit from start to finish, it was like having a tooth pulled. The record will say we won 1-0 so that all that really should count.

We got the Portugues next who are going to be without Deco, Costinha and probaly Ronaldo thru injury. They should be without Figo too for his headbutting incident. Gonna be a tuff game but having them players missing is a slight bonus.

TomTom, if you know about football (and I know you do), you?ll admit that the referee was by far the worse participant on that pitch. Even FIFA?s president said he had ruined the game (which is highly hypocritical if you consider that it was FIFA who gave orders for the refs to be this harsh...)

As for the England game, even without Deco, Costinha and eventually Ronaldo, we have good alternatives to build a team capable of beating England. Honestly, I can?t remember the last time an English team beat a Portuguese team (be it national squad or clubs), but this time the brits are out for revenge. Frankly, our team showed something which I hadn?t seen for a long a time in a Portugal national squad : a huge heart...so that makes me at least a bit optimistical.

You are always going to get 1 game as intense with the red cards and fighting like the Protugal game. The worse part was that as Portugal was wasting time at the end, the Dutch still were fouling them. WTF? Play the GodDamn game and try to score.

O well, England needs to wake up if they think they are going to win.

That?s true. He should?ve been sent off, but in compensation that 2nd yellow card for Deco was ridiculous. The Portuguese FA is asking FIFA for both yellow cards he received to be revoked.

Btw, it?s kinda painful to know that I bought an England shirt in the beginning of the WC and now I won?t be able to use it anymore, at least until the end of the competition...

The referee was overcharged for sure and a few of the yellow cards came too early but in my opinion, almost every player begged for the red card. I did not see an alternative for the Referee not to show so many red cards. Some of the Fouls were (literally) below the belt und most more than unnecessary. If I was the coach of one of the teams, I would make some players pay penalty payments for the damage they caused to their national team because they did not have their feelings under control at all.

                    Re: World Cup 2006

It´s was a game with feeling , this means that they had played most of the time with the heart not with the head. So that was why tey had made so many falts. The portuguese team was so focus on the victory that forgot how to play. For us portuguese, it was a game that we will never forgett (like in euro 2004 with england). Now we have to think in the next game and play with the same honesty that we have play so far. Because the english team will play also to win.

not gonna happen... but unlucky for him. on the first one the dutch should have done the right thing and given it back to portugal who had kicked it out because of an injured player... i would have chopped the dirty fucker down too!

Yup, it?s not gonna happen, I guess they just want to make a stand...

BTW, there were only 25 fouls in the whole game, the portuguese only did 10, and got 9 yellow and 2 red cards for that!
