paint colours

I am moving out on my own for the first time ever, yay! I get to paint my new bedroom and I want it to be funky. I love bright colors. I know the whole color psyche thing and how certain colors promote calm, stress, blah blah...I dont personally believe in it. That being said, what bright funky colors are cool to paint with. I am thinking a bright magenta pink, with a warm orange molding trim. These are colors most people shy away from but I love it!

Right now the room is a pale icky mint green, which i find gross.

Ideas?

i'd go with maroon or dark red for a room. the living room. it would look great.

i think a deep pink with black trim is nice or like a purplish reddish pink.. maroon.. but in a funky way.. reds seem to bring life to a room.. or u can do funky shapes on the wall and incorporate it into the furniture and surroundings.. if u put a bright orange it might make u feel uncomfortable.. reds are ur sure bet becuase they are funky and also they make u feel good about ur surroundings..

if the colours you use are too bright they tend to opress the room and make it look smaller than it is. neutral colours will give a more open feel.

hey well the deep reds and the orange look great.. maybe when i move out ill do my living room or sumthign like that.. its bright...

nutrals make the room bigger but its too formal if u like that.. its good when u know u have a family but shit.. your young do whatever. paint the city red...

I hate the mint green cuz two years ago i thought I would be smart and repaint all my furniture mint green with darker stenciling. Ugh.

yellowy lime green with white molding and lots of fuscia/aqua/electric blue/orange accents
