I would say something about living in a birght pink room... but the building where I'm living is painted in yellow and green stripes so...
have you ever seen that BBC's show changing rooms? you can check teir designs on their website, there are lots of unusual color combos that look really well, maybe you can pick up some ideas from there.

i bought a house two years ago and decided NOT to go with white. Had i bought a loft, definitely solid black and white minimalist.
shades of grey in the living room, with lighter texture painted over the top, white window trim. funny what they are calling these colors, Luscious Grey Heather Ash or something. hehe. it's grey, no getting around that.
Bathroom, chinese dragon red ( another one, but it perfectly describes the color.)
Bedroom, odd shade of olive/military green that i once hated, now with white trim that i've grown to like after i black washed my furniture. It looks kewl with hardwood floors.
My office, i covered one wall with this weird textured bronze metalish paper...then painted the paper off white...really breaks up the room, even though the whole room is painted the same color.
I tired several other experiments with my dining room since it's a big space.
Next time i get a wild hair, i'm going to take a sponge with some light grey paint and hit the high areas on the textured walls...hoping that will break it up a bit...i've already fucked it up the texture thing once, trial and error...gotta love paint.
