Re: Sasha Announces Live Double CD

Additionally, doing it this way gets the producers of the tracks ( all of the tracks he has on his HD going into the night apparently) compensation as opposed to posting the mix free on his site and nobody getting a dime.

Dont forget that sasha has released MANY live mixes for free in the past two years (some may have gotten out without his consent probably) and last time I checked, nobody can force you to buy a CD, not even a double CD... On top of that, if the night blows or isn't anything to text home about, then at least at the venue itself nobody will be taking a gamble on buying something that might not be their piece of cake.... they already paid their cover and heard the set live... those who pre-order will simply be tuning in remotely to the same thing they were in-person for.

I would really LOVE to see the breakdown of where that $30 goes to.... producers, sasha, the venue, Clear Channel, chuck norris, etc.

I'm not committing to buying anything until I see what's on it - what if he releases a snooze-fest of a set? I think I'll wait until after the broadcast and then see...........

Thanks for sayin it mike. I have no qualms with supporting the arts/artist. Technology/computers/illegal downloading is suffocating the arts, and not allowing money to be directed to the artists who deserve it.

Y'all need to stop bitching about paying for music. Stop stealing all of it, and start giving back to the artists.

Hell, if sasha were sitting next to me in a bar (even though he's loaded as all hell) I'd STILL want to buy him a beer. Give a lil' back for what he's done. Show some respect you whiny little bitches.
            Peace.

Can't help noticing that since you took charge of the downloads, stats have dropped dramatically.

Yeah and what about all the times he just hasn't bothered to show up at nights where he is booked? where people have travelled for miles and payed a wedge to get there and been left with nothing but disappointment just because Sasha couldn't be arsed to show up! A download of this could be compensation for one the times i have been let down just because he couldn't be fucked. (Lakota?)

What we have here gentlemen, is... failure to communicate... some men you just can't reach...

Simon.... you haven't put a damn word in your post acknowledging the fact that Sasha has released quite a handful of mixes for free in the past year or so alone... Nor do you give credit where credit is due for Sasha being a hell of a lot more professional and reliant over the same above mentioned recent time frame... You sound bitter baby cranky temper tantrum and borderline ignorantly selfish about this topic... If there are specfic recent events which you base this attitude on, please bring them to the table with your explanation of how you can justify the music producers getting dick squat for their music on this release based on your above argument.

I think my post speaks for itself, i've been let down by Sasha several times, not recently but that isn't relevent. i've wasted more money on this than i've spent on CD's etc.

When you say "Sasha has released quite a handful of mixes" i hope you realise that they are not "released" as a favour to us, they are for his own promotion.

So in essence, you are saying that sasha actually needs to
                            A) promote himself,
                            B) tell these producers who's tracks he selects for this recorded&released event that they wont be compensated because he was a bit of a mess a few years ago, and that it's high time that he write an apology note on a mix that he releases....?

And how is the fact that Sasha has stopped the behavior you are still holding a grudge about, and has been consistent on not doing things like that to fans/venues any longer, not somehow relevant to an issue you are holding onto an at least 2 year old grudge about...

It seems that you care far more about getting what you want (even if it means others not getting what they have more than earned and given) than you do about getting to hear sasha play live on a semi-regular basis, the very same exact issue you are still pouting about being what you love so much you will pay a lot more than just admission to get the chance to hear.

You've had what you've felt denied from back for a while now, and unless you are actually concerned about getting that past-lost money refunded... which I'm sure you probably let go of as a possibility years ago, so why can't you be adult and open enough to be able to recognize that you are holding onto a problem that was corrected long ago and has long been put to bed by almost everyone that was in the exactly same boat as you....

How on earth can you justify what you feel is owed back to you warrants the makers of this music you want as a present to not be compensated for having created?

Well, of course Sasha doesn't need to promote himself, so why would he do radio mixes etc? as a a favour to the listeners? hmmmm, i think he just wants to maintain his profile as anyone in his position would do.

As for the set, i'm not going deep into it, all i will say is Sasha owes me far more than i owe him. Would i feel guilty if i got it for free.....?

                              Not a bit.

the only thing I might be worried about is that the cd might be not worth (music-wise) spending all that money - you never know if it's gonna be his 'top' or 'low' night, but this statement just made me
