So who here has it shitty in their respective state or country where you have to work an assload before you even get any overtime? I found out weeks ago that I'm in the only state that even offers double time pay. I think that sucks for the rest of the states. What do you all think? Share your gripes.

Re: Labor Laws and all of that stuff
any thing worked over 40 hours in the week is OT for me. It does suck though. If I work 10 hours on one day, and take off in 6 hours the next ... no go for me. that is the only catch I have. 40+ for the WHOLE week. ... err.dead, yet alive. -
Re: Labor Laws and all of that stuff
That does suck and I found out that's quite common across the US. I've got coworkers in Dallas area and it's the same for them. They don't get OT until after they work 40 hours in a week. Talk aboutComment

Re: Labor Laws and all of that stuff
yeah no shit. i been fucked a couple times in regards to this ... another thing we get fucked on is we have holiday pay ... that does not count towards your 40 hours. they put that in another bucket. so you actually have to work 48 hours ... and anything over that hits the OT bell.
... lame.dead, yet alive.Comment

Re: Labor Laws and all of that stuff
Well, to that respect, if we have a holiday, we get those eight hours but those don't count as our regular forty hour week. We would still get OT if we go over eight hours hours in a day but those first eight hours would count as the regular scheduled week.Comment

Re: Labor Laws and all of that stuff
I know here in California, if you work six days in a row, regardless of how little hours you work the previous five days, you get OT automatically and if you go over twelve hours in that day, then those hours go directly to DT. If you work seven days in a row, that seventh day is automatically DT.Comment
