I will NOT Tolerate another freaking Sasha thread, this is the thread for dj's that are NOT Sahsa. He's had his day...it's time to gracefully lead others into the spotlite too!

Not that I don't like Sasha or something like that. GU09, GU13 are two of the best cd's he's put out.

how do u study the vibe of the room until its flowing?

You can usually make a rough outline beforehand. Early in the night people are sober and saying high to friends, etc. Then they start to get drunk, and people start finding their pills. Later in the night drunk people start to get tired and leave, and the others are peaking and getting lost in the music.

Speaking from experience, it's hard to just play a good set completely on the fly. There has to be some kind of plan, albeit subject to change at any moment.

I usually always start out with something in the minimal vein, then just slowly build the first 2 of a 4 hour night, the last two hours you can pretty much bang it out.

Oh, I forgot the other variable. You have to kick it up a notch when the person who books you or the club owner walks in the room.
