G'day folks.. hot on the heels of Paolo Mojo, Lee Burridge, Omid 16B, DJ Dan, Anthony Pappa and Dave Seaman (phew! it's been a busy couple of months!) it's time for yet another A-grade .AUdio installment - and this edition is focussing in on some of Australia's own very best artists!
Without question one of Australia's finest DJ talents is Sydney headliner, Robbie Lowe. Robbie is a personal favourite of mine and with a trademark of unwavering quality in absolutely every gig he plays. And I'm not kidding. Anyone who's had the pleasure of hearing RL's sets knows that he's got all the hallmarks of a world class DJ - spectacularly good mixing, a tune collection that spans the cutting edge of electronic music but equally well filled out across a decade of quality tracks, and a seemingly inate ability to pick the perfect track for the perfect time. Robbie's been fusing tech and house material as a pro DJ for over ten years now - and the set you're about to hear is the perfect example of why Robbie's one of the most in-demand names in the country. In my opinion he is Australia's BEST DJ. A phenomenal DJ and an equally good set for the show.
In keeping with only the very best and brightest, the second half of .AUdio for June will be looking into the past at someone who was always looking to the future - Australian dance music legend, Sugar Ray. Along with partner Phil Smart, Sugar Ray pretty much defined quality music in Australia for over a decade with some of the most respected events like Tweekin' and the Love series of parties. Ray's played Bedrock, toured the world extensively, started Sydney's Reachin Records store and has been a significant part of cementing the Australian dance music scene as one of the very finest in the world. This classic set from over a decade ago is a testament to the cutting edge nature of his material - this set could've been played last week and you'd barely have known! A ridiculously tasty blend of house, tech, rave and acid originally broadcast on Marusha's Rave Satellite Radio in September 1995.
So! Kick back, light one up and enjoy a selection of some of the finest music on the planet. This is most certainly one of my favourite .AUdio episodes ever, so I really hope you enjoy as much as I do. Climb inside the hole at these times...
