So your upset that the tracks being made are shitty? or that the actually mp3 quality and or wav quality is shitty.... or both?

Ive had pretty decent luck when buying mp3's on beatport, but this past month, I grabbed some where the gain on my mixer was almost maxed out just to be loud enough to compete with the other track.

There are only 27 people working for beatport and only 1 of them actually works with costumer service issues/complaints! WTF!!

i have no issue with beatport, they have been tops. its the dumb producers that cant seem to master thier work. its like they dont even listen to thier own tracks outside of thier software.

yeah I don't think some of them have even read a book about production and mastering. If they did they probably skip over the mastering part, thinking that it's really just the mixdown...it's not.

Why would anyone think that Beatport would master the tracks for you? What kind of retarded thinking is that?

Mastering is the producer or label?s responsability, but Beatport should enforce some kind of quality control over what it sells.

But we can?t blame Beatport for the stupid "loudness war" going on in music nowadays...I?ve seen some tracks compressed, maximized and brickwall-limited to the point of it?s waveform appearing like a solid rectangle. No dynamics whatsoever...this has been going on in pop/rock for quite some time, but I?m seeing it in dance music too.

All in all, that?s why I do some "mastering" and normalizing on my sets.

yeah i hate tracks like that. you need softer parts and louder parts in a song, it is called dynamics and it's how you create emotion in a song...or one of the ways.
