thats a tiny looking dj booth. where would you even store your records/cd's over there?
looks like there's barely enough room for a redbull. anyway, how was damian?

[Pics 1A-1C]: We left Thursday night at Midnight, and eventually got a hotel room in Hays, Kansas at 4am. Friday morning we woke and continued the etremely flat (aka boring) drive through Kansas. Remember, kids... Kansas sucks.

[Pics 1B-1C]: The sky is getting real dark and eerie-looking... feels like a storm.

[Pics 1D-2A]: We almost drive straight through a fucking tornado! It immediately starts downpouring and visibility isn't more than 20 feet ahead of us. We pulled over behind a big white van, and it's rocking back and forth from the wind. Must've been 80mph winds. Eventually we got tired of waiting, and Josh decided to just fight the wind and start driving. Notice all the cars parked on the shoulder and median.

[Pic 2B]: Picture of the sky through the sunroof after we get out of the rain. We stopped at a gas station after we left the rain and heard there were tornados spotted all over the area.

[Pic 2C]: Some dude at a rest stop in Colorado wearing a Peckers@Lake Ozark shirt. My aunt managed Peckers in my hometown (Lake Ozark) for years, and my mom/sister worked there for a while too. Crazy shit seeing it at the rest stop.

[Pics 2D-2E]: We finally hit Denver, and can finally see mountains.

[Pics 3A-3C]: We keep driving to Idaho Springs, about half an hour west of Denver. Pictures are from Highway 6, a cooler, more scenic route than I-70.

[Pic 3D]: We got our hotel in Idaho Springs, and this was the view off the back porch: mountain and stream. Every 5 minutes in the afternoon we saw a group of rafters floating down it.

[Pics 3E-5B]: We met up with our buddy Eric, who just moved to Denver 3 weeks ago, then go out drinking at Little Mike + Damian Lazarus. We all drink way too much... but it's pretty obvious that Eric drank the most. Little Mike rocked it. I don't remember if Damian did, but I don't remember being unhappy with the set.

[Pics 5C-6A]: We woke up Saturday morning (hungover) and drive to Dillon for breakfast and exploring.

[Pics 6B-6E]: Assorted pictures of Dillon. We walked through the trees to get to the lake shore.

[Pics 7A-9B]: We take another portion of the Highway 6 and set off for Winter Park for lunch. Along the way we find a few of the Continental Divides, and a secluded lake about 12k feet above sea level, and huge snow drifts at the top of the mountain. We climbed halfway up the mountain behind it to sit and overlook the lake & mountains.

[Pics 9C-10B]: We set off from Winter Park on Highway 36 straight through the Rocky Mountain National Park. It's supposedly the highest through-way road in the US... regardless, it had the coolest scenery ever. Also gave me some of my favorite pictures of the bunch.

[Pics 10C-12D]: We stop at a rest spot on the mountain and climb a porcupine-infested hill to a cold as hell mountaintop. A sign said it never got warmer than 50 degrees, but the windchill kept it a frozen tundra with permafrost and snow everywhere. Thankfully we bought hoodies before going up the mountain. I have to coax Josh into climbing the whole mountain, as he turned around at least 3 times. I talk him into coming up for some kickass views, and he excitefly landsurfs with joy back down the mountain because we stopped climbing.

[Pics 12E-16A]: We stop at another rest stop even at the highest point in the Rockies and start to climb another long trail. After about 3 minutes I see a sign and start laughing... Josh asked me what I was laughing about and I told him the path was half a mile up. I wasn't able to convince him to walk with me this time, so he pusses out as I climb up even further.

[Pics 13E and 14D]: Other favorite pics, you can see the road curving away in the distance in the sun's reflection.

[Pics 16B-16C]: Still on 36, we head from Rocky Mountain National Park to Estes Park. We see some wildlife chilling in the chill, 12k feet up. When we got to Estes Park, we ate lunch and drove to south Denver to and grab a room.

[Pics 16D-17D]: We wake in Denver Sunday morning and drive south to Colorado Springs to check out the Garden of the Gods.

[Pic 17E]: We go to Pike's Peak to climb it, but see that it's a 2-hour drive and costs $20+half a tank of gas. We decide it's not worth going to, as the drive would slate us at getting home at about 4am Sunday night... which marked the beginning of our 8/9-hour drive back to Kansas city.

dude, you stayed in idaho springs? i used to go 4 wheeling all the time near there. did you go eat/drink at tommy knockers? mmmm... the maple nut brown ale is the best! they have some damn good buffalo burger too!! YUMM!

the drive up/down pikes peak is okay. a bit scary for me being a foot away from the edge of a 200 ft drop of doom, but i made it up a few times. once you get to the top, it's INCREDIBLE!!

yeah, we kind of wanted to drive up Pike's peak, but didn't want to waste the time... we couldn't afford getting home at 4am, because josh had to work at 8. We were at Long's Peak though, which is 100 feet taller than Pike's. We didn't climb all the way up it, but I kind of got the idea
