A nice rig if you ask me should be powered with vista 64bit, Q6600, Nvidia 8800gtx, 4 gb ddr2 800mhz, and a good mobo 775 socket.

no offence bro but whats your point? I know that the game requires a lot of juice I know that for a fact.. so?

what percentage of the PC market you think has a 64bit OS, 8800gtx card or higher, 4g ram and quad core? 1% maybe?

in the end EA is gonna fire this cocky crytek numbnuts and actually they WILL port the game to a home console with a different programer team which eventually turn to a total failure of the game.

Not 'my' point but crytek's point is that consoles cannot handle that game so a console version will not be released. Now if you have any problems about that then you should contact them and state your disagreement. If they fail in the market then thats their problem.

          Re: Crysis

          from http://www.crysis-online.com/Informa...0Requirements/

Here is a list of confirmed information...
          • Crysis will run on both DX9 & DX10 as well as Windows XP and Windows Vista.
          • A graphics card that supports Shader Model 2 or higher is required.
          • CryEngine2 is estimated to scale back 2 years, and scale ahead 1.5 years.
          • A single 7800GTX will run the game quite well on fairly high settings according to Crysis Art Director, Michael Khaimzon.
          • Jack Mamais of Crytek said in an exclusive Crysis-Online interview that his X1900XT runs the game very well at reasonably high settings ( still unoptmized ).
          • Crysis will dynamically utilize all processing threads available. Meaning quad-core processors will be supported.
The following specs are estimates made by myself based on the above mentioned information and other sources. These estimates are NOT official - but are based on official information.

          Minimum Requirements
          CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600 or ATI X1600 - Shader Model 2.0
          RAM: 1GB
          HDD: 6GB
          Internet: 256k+
          Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista

          Recommended Requirements
          CPU: Dual-Core CPU (Athlon X2 / Pentium D / Core 2 Duo)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800 or ATI X1800 (SM 3.0)
          RAM: 1.5GB+
          HDD: 6GB
          Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
          Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista

Once again, these are estimates only and are no way official. I just want to make sure that is as clear as possible. Keep in mind that Crysis is still a few months away from release, so the hardware making up the minimum specs will be more ore less three years old by that time.

I will update this page as more accurate information becomes available. Until then, this is the best reference available. If you have information that may be more accurate than this, please contact me via the enquiry contact form.

yeah its their problem i'm just predicting my humble theory, they can shove crysis up their fat asses for all i care. on a side note minimum requirements will make the game look like a friggin ps1 tittle.. yeah that shitty...

so save cash and get a ps3 or a 360 instead IMO. metal gear solid 4 and halo 3 are right there on the corner.

No matter if it will be released earlier or not, I won't touch it till I built a new PC next spring..that in case Vista has SP2 out already..wouldn't want to touch it otherwise and so far I only read about dramatic framerate drops as soon as DX10 is enabled and especially the newest edition of soundcards is affected...no thanks. I am not playing the beta tester while paying 2 and a half grand for a decent gamer pc. And no, consoles are no choice. Especially not the new generation because they became almost PC's as well and have way too many options for a gaming console. Thanks to the online connectivity I am sure in 2 years the majority of Games will be released too early as well because they can offer a patch also after they made the money just like it is with PC Games.

No problem, I can live another year with Windows XP for sure. I doubt Games can really take much advantage of DX10 even next year. Most started producing their games before it was out and will maybe adjust it to be compatible with DX10 but the new options need to be explored first. As soon as programmers know it in and out DX11 will show up on the Horizon...eternal law.
