Desyn Massiello's Promo CD that made him Big (1999)

This CD is a Promo CD that Desyn Massiello sent out in 1999. It is the CD that brought him into the dance music scene. Its a classic as far as Im concerned, and a must have. Here is what his biography says about the Promo.....

"His DJ career all began with 1 mix CD that he took a considerable amount of time and love preparing, he sent it out to 100 random people that requested the CD from a post that Desyn put out onto various internet message boards. After a few months the CD had been passed all around the world and ended up on the laps of various promoters and DJs. The CD made such an impression that Desyn, although completely unknown at the time began to get international gig requests. From his first international gigs in Helsinki and Tampara, Finland 200, to his chaotic schedule today; it all sparked off from that one mix CD."

I have to be honest and i dont begrudge the man one bit, very talented etc
But this set was anthem after anthem, one wonders where the attraction was for a set like this, i mean he plays records normally that even diggers dosent know where they are from, think he commented on that b4. Does anyone agree?

            1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
            2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
            3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
            4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

            Am I close here?

have you considered the fact that these songs were not yet anthems at the time this mix was recorded?

Yip, thats what im saying, you know a big record when u hear it regardless how new it is.
Just saying that its not really the norm to belt out biggish records for a demo. But i suppose it was 99, and things have changed. Dont get me wrong, its a cracking mix, but for me anyway, I always tend to think the mix with not big records tends to have a bigger impact.Just me anyway. U get me?
