First I've heard of the different promo. I remember Howells' Noctural Frequencies 3 had a track removed at the last minute which Danny wasn't happy about, but didn't know about the Parks & Wilson one.

The commercially released version is class though. Nicely filled a gap for me when P&W sets were thin on the ground. Their 2000 Essential Mix is one of the finest mixes that show's ever put out.

yeh, the lsg joint is prime, but the bjork, brancaccio n aisher joint is utter gold. i often wonder why these labels pull off such a thing in vanity...

.. do labels ever stop to think that these choons will far outlive their mark by ages? bah. idunno.

Reviving this thread as I recently picked up the original version of Painting on Silence.

Got to say, I'm really surprised that this release has not really stood the test of time for me. Thought it was very 'chuggy' and 'ploddy'. They included a couple of remixes of well known tunes that IMO are not as good as the original.

I imagine if I had first heard it way back in 2001 when it was released I would be all over it!
