    Digweed Transitions Tour

I saw Digweed in Kansas City Wednesday night.

He played an excellent,s olid set. I felt like it ended a bit early - 1:30am, not sure if it was the venue, or just the deal.

Venue was pretty decent - Madrid Theatre.

He dropped a lot of tracks he's been featuring on the show in recent weeks. Plus a few I haven't heard. Wicked basslines.

Not sure who the DJ was that opened, but he sucked for all but the last couple of his tracks. It just didn't have a consistent vibe. Diggers on the other hand, total class as usual. The set was smooth, and the tracks progressed very nicely to an excellent closedown.

BTW, is he using CD exclusively now, or was that just because the venue only had cd?

what were you doing in KC? I live in KC, and was there at the show. The opener DJ was Bill Pile, a local KC dj... and he was all over the place. Felt like he was playing every genre until the last half hour of his set. I wasn't digging digger's last half of his set though... too many breakdowns. I'd give it a 7/10

I haven't been to a Digweed show for a while, so didn't know he made the full shift.

Here's an interesting interview transcript he did with the Kansas City Star newspaper on their blog:

Yeah Bill Pile didn't impress me. I enjoyed Digweed's set. The middle part was the least interesting to me, and actually thought the end worked. But I do agree, there were a lot of breakdowns not spaced out far enough. I wonder if he did that because the set seemed short.

Bummer, I was sitting there thinking - what a dumbhead, I should have posted on ms to find out if anyone else was going to be here. It would have been fun to hook up.

Were you upstairs on the balcony, or down below?

I don't live in KC, a friend and I drove down from Des Moines for the night.

Does the Madrid have shows like that often?

every once in a while. there's a free-invite-only BT show going on there in two weeks that I'll probably go to. not a fan of BT, but the openers are good plus it's a free show so it's not worth passing up imo. I was down below on the dance floor all night
