    Thom Yorke - The Eraser

    1. The Eraser
    2. Analyse
    3. The Clock
    4. Black Swan
    5. Skip Divided
    6. Atoms For Peace
    7. And It Rained All Night
    8. Harrowdown Hill
    9. Cymbal Rush

    Release Date: July 11, 2006

Thom's first solo release. If you liked Kid A, I'm fairly sure you'll love this. There are a few weaker tracks in the middle (Skip Divided and Atoms For Peace, especially), but the start and the end of this album are fantastic. I think And It Rained All NIght has to be my favorite right now.

    definitely worth the purchase.

It's exactly as I expected it to be. Which isn't really a good thing..
I was hoping for an album that would take me 5+ listens to start feeling.
Certainly worth checking out, but it's not breaking any new ground.

I'm going to see radiohead in berkley tomorrow night actually.... I heard they've been playing some amazing shows. I'm fired up.

I'm pretty sure I have a good idea of what this will sound like and that's fine. I already know what to expect so I doubt I'd be disappointed. You didn't think, or anyone for that fact, that this would be ground breaking in the slightest did you?

          No, I guess not.

I knew what to expect and it was exactly that.

This album is good but not great. Can't wait for the new Radiohead album though, sounds like it's gonna be Kid Aish.

^ ^ But why would you want another album that sounds much like something they've already released? That's basically a cop out for lack of creativity.

The new songs they played the other night when I saw them didn't sound anything like Kid A.

no the new album won't be kid-a-like, at least not from the track i heard...i dont have it on my hard drive anymore, but dreamgirlie posted a link to one of their new tracks they played live called 'arpeggi', which is touted for the new record...and it sounded nothing like kid a.

But that's only one track. How can you be so sure that the rest of them don't sound like Kid-A? Judging an album, or even stating the influence on it, based on one track is pretty poor.

Could still be a long wait on that album - they haven't even hit the studio yet. Thom's solo album apparently helped him get a few things out of his system (musically that is) - so from the sound of the new tracks I'd expect things to be more guitar based, which suits me fine. As they have completed their last contract they are record deal free, and don't have to pandy to A & R interference. The tour is low key, and they were in top form when I caught them.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
