Internet access on phones & pdas

Anyone else laugh at how long it takes to load certain pages onto your phone, pda, blackberry, treo, etc.? Now I know it's the nature of the beast and wireless web access isn't high speed and all of that fancy shmancy jazz but instead of getting angry and frustrated, I just laugh about it while I wait for a page to load sometimes.

I don't really enjoy surfing porn on a 1" x 1.5" screen on a cell phone like you do. Alls I've used it for, is downloading a game or 2 on my mobile, and it takes a long time to do so.

I have no use for connecting to the Internet with a cell phone/PDA or whatever. I have a connection at work, a laptop with me when I travel and at home I have an internet connection as well. Surfing the web in Germany is slow and still pretty expensive so it is a no go.

yep, far cry from ideal. I do use mine all the time, though, mostly to check a score when I'm not near a computer (or when it would be inappropriate to whip one out), or to read the news or something while I'm standing in line at the store to kill time.

My screen is about 2.4 by 3.1 inches. I get the internet for free and it serves its purpose. I get maps, directions, etc. to find out where the local good eats are, if the local teams are having a game, etc.

Reminds me of when I was served by an asshole waiter in Koln. When the fucker came back with the bill (after half an hour, tsss) I asked him if he didn't lose anything. He said no. After which I asked: "And what about the war then?"
