                          I havent had much luck with Macros, closer than a certain distance, I've found the Rebel to struggle with AF

                                  Really? That's not what I want to hear...lol!

                                  I have been told to get the Nikon D70 instead. I haven't priced it yet, but I was told it is a little more user friendly then the Rebel, but seeing as it is a Nikon, I am thinking it may be out of my price range

                                      My Macro troubles could well be my fault. As for the D70, you're right about the price range, its competing more with the 30D than the Digital Rebel

                                              a buddy of mine had the d70 and loved it. He upgraded it to the d200
