Bs As deep exclusive Mercuryserver mix + Hernan Cattaneo@Dance Valley

    G'day

As promised, the 16bit Lolita live set from Grant's Audio show and the June promo from Robbie Lowe are online now. This will be the last time we are hosting fresh promos and mixes on a weekly base though. We continue hosting John Digweed's Transition show on Kiss100 and Hernan's Metrodance show but it became too hard to find a good variety of unreleased mixes nowadays because of the general availability of music through download platforms like Megaupload and others. We will still host special and exclusive mixes if artists approach us or we dig out something good but this will happen aperiodic only.

I want to say thanks to everybody who was involved in getting the mixes, handing them over to us and especially to the artists because without their mixes, we would be lost. Special thanks also to Skahound who did a hell of a job in the past. Thanks to our members for listening when we tried to introduce new talents and thanks for the feedback you gave us. No regrets but time to stick with the flow.

    Update 1:

See how fast it can happen sometimes lol...Jonathan Lisle has sent a new and unreleased mix to Phil recorded from a recent gig in New York. Happy Tuesday

    Update 2:

Did I announce the end of weekly downloads? We just received another exclusive mix from Bs As deep in Argentina which is another one of my favourite DJs from this country. Thanks to Arielus for making the contact and to Diego aka Bs As deep for making a two hour mix exclusively for us. I started listening to it while I uploaded it and it sounded awesome so far. There are some intense tracks on it and it is definitely no chilling house mix so don’t miss out on the Party ride.

    Update 3:

Hernan @ Dance Valley 2006 short but awesome

    Update 4:

Mixes from Robbie Lowe, 16bit Lolitas and Jonathan Lisle are offline

at this point, a periodic download is much better then the weekly...good job though for all that time (and bandwidth) spent

Great job Ms crew for provided us with some great ms specials over the yrs. Sad to see them go but now getting them every once in while will give us more to time to listen to the specials instead of listening to it for week or so then listening to new specials. Thanks for the great mixes.

Thanks for all the mixes over the years.

Theres been some amazing mixes on here - that I never would have tried, or maybe even heard of, if they hadnt been hosted on here.

Hopefully if the mods hear a 'must have' set - it can still get hosted.

also - you were always garunteed quality sound on MS sets - with megaupload etc etc -youre never quite sure what you're gonna get!

Quality, not quantity. It's cool that you guys recognize that rather than putting up mixes for the sake of it. Hope to hear more good stuff in future though. Thanks for introducing so much good music

Re: 16bit Lolitas+Robbie Lowe+Jonathan Lisle *UPDATED* (last round of weekly downloads)

Cheers for providin some classic specials over the years guys, in particular:

              Pappa from Livewire
Kasey Taylor proton 4 hr set
Yunus 4 part set from the other year
CP promo from the other year

              And loads of others

And as someone said, you were always guaranteed a quality sounding recording from MS as opposed to elsewhere.

Just out of interest, have recent specials not really attracted that much interest?

Thanks for the kind words. Number of downloads dropped on the special downloads a bit, the Kiss100 and Metrodance shows are always stable but this wasn't the reason. Having Terrabytes of uploaded sets available here and on a ton of other sites as well made it hard to dig for so much real exlusive mixes that you can host something worthy week by week.

We always tried to host "special" mixes which we either had exclusively or we wanted to share a mix because we know and like the artists no matter if they are well known DJs already or not but it is a tough job if you host over 500 mb of Music weekly and you want to do it right and not just upload random and/or mediocre sets.

Instead of doing away with the specials, why not have a Mercury Server Member guest spot of the week? Where individuals (from this forum) who are not known can send in a mix and have it hosted for a week (regardless of what they play). It would be a great way for those individuals to get there names out there and be recognized instead of them posting in the other threads and having them knocked all the way down due to some of the big names that get uploaded and the little guys go unnoticed. Just a thought...

1st of all, I wanna thank all the members of the MS crew who worked hard to provide us with the amazing specials over the years. You guys were kind of a weekly musical treasure chest for me, and it?s thank to these that I got to know some amazing artists (my latest discovery here was Jesse Somfay, amazing!). Specially Skahound?s period was just glorious.

As for Funky Dredd?s idea...well, on the one hand I think it?s great...it?s a bit disappointing to put some thought and effort into something and get 32 views and one comment after 2 weeks of posting a set. But would giving a special slot to the members really change that so radically? I mean, there?s a huge offer here on MS, I think people would still overlook those sets...but hey, who knows, it could work and maybe some people would get 30/40/50 downloads more than usual.

But that?s not the main reason...I think the main reason would be : who would go and listen to the sets and make a selection? I?m pretty sure that would take some time and dedication to do properly and with a fair selection to all who apllied...

If the weekly specials must end...well, bring on the future.

                          Bs As deep bio

Diego Sebastian Colquhoun better known as Bs as deep, was born november 29, 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Being influenced by diverse musical genres from the 80s and 90s, led to his interest in DJing.
The particular sound coming from the electronic dance music would have the more profound impact that would shape his
musical ambitions. Genres such as Techno, Electro, Tribal and every aspect of House would comprise
his early influences in dance music. Artists such as Depeche Mode, Deep Dish, David MOrales, Arman Van Helden, Atahualpa,
Eric Morillo, John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Howells, Anthony Pappa, Hernan Cattaneo, Lexicon Avenue,
Delirium all played a major role in what would become a way of life for BS AS DEEP as a future DJ And producer.

Radio stations such as Z 95 and Energy 101.1, more specifically programs such as "oid mortales" helped bring the
sound of dance early on and played a factor in shaping his tastes.
Around 1993, Bs as Deep finally entered the Dj scene playing House and Industrial which were the more popular
genres in the scene. He played at many small local gigs at bars and clubs where he would try to get
maximum exposure to become recognized. He did however take a break from the dance scene but when he returned
in 1997 he vowed to never become separated from it again. Around the end of the 2000, he began to experiment
with various music software to begin taking steps into musical production as an artist. After being in the scene
listening to music and playing it, he felt it was time to add a third element which would be to make his mark in the
scene by playing his particular scene. He began under the alias "INTRO SOUND" and produced tribales, tech tribal,
and progressive tribal. Around 2003 and 2004 his style shifted to Progressive House and Deep Progressive.
Such productions such as "gloria in excelsis", "deep" and "I need house" all provided his listeners.

Around 2004, Bs as deep began to work with varios producers from Argentina such as Gabriel Modica who is better
known as Detune and Ex may day. Later on they would form the joint alias named TREE FACTORY. Presently, BS AS DEEp
working alongside Nicholas Fantin have produced together under the name: "Sound Experience". Sound Experience working
alongside with Detune have formed the group known as High Sensitive. Numerous Projects under both teams are currently
                          in the works.

Today BS AS DEEP has earned the respect and support from many reknown djs such as Hernan Cattaneo, Dj tarkan,
moshic, snake sedrick, dj taucher, jacobb todd, jason collins, atmosphere, naveen g, denver and mints, Martin Bonansea,
dj @lias, Guillaume Nyckees, Kosmik 3, Nicholas Van orton, Dj griff, dj bia, nicholas coronel, and many others.
BS as DEEP has played along many great and upcoming dj's as well including Guille Quero, Manuel Sahagum,
Gustavo Di Tomaso, Dami?n DP, Mart?n Bonansea, Oscar Lacava, Luis Zerrillo, Dj Williams, Dj Lila ,
Mart?n Armentano, Dj Lucio mk2, Nick on, Blitto, Lucas Rivara, Ariel Juariste and many others.

Some of the venues he has played at include SOHO Club (Rosario), Bahrein (Capital Federal), De La Ostia (La Plata), Marat?n (Carmen de Areco), Neeo (S.A. Padua), La Ben Hur (Ituzaingo),

American Wave (Castelar), Fiestas Globals (Escobar), Bestial Club, and Fortaleza (San Miguel).

His sets are composed of his own personal style he developed through the years by combining his productions

Woo! Two of your four favourites are from my radio show. Ta!

TomTom - I totally agree with your sentiment about quality over quantity. I have personally dealt with this with .AUdio for three years now; with each show trying to maintain the top-quality level that I want to hear as a listener, not just a show producer.

With the sheer quantity of live sets, promos and rips (of wildly varying quality) out there, it becomes harder and harder for the 'signal' to be heard amongst the 'noise' ...but the results are often worth the continued effort. I'm definitely quite picky and a little bit jaded with regards to what's out there; and I imagine many of "my" listeners to be like that too. Quality control is critical, IMO.

Keep up the good work mate.

With that in mind, run - don't walk - to the downloads section and grab Robbie Lowe's promo. I keep saying it, but I think this guy is the on-par with the absolute best Australia has to offer.

Grant, yes I love it when you have posted a set up cos i know it's probably going to be excellent.

If anyone has a digital version of that Kasey Taylot 4 hour promo I would love them forever - I only have a minidisc version but that is extinct since I bought my iPod!
