but hey, that super duper NL this year, for atlanta at least, isnt out of reach. at 5 under 500 baseball the braves are only 6 behind the wildcard.

i know, that is sad isn't it? the world series has already been decided in my opinion (AL wins)... but i'll say something on the braves behalf....

i don't think they'll trade the only pitcher that gets the job done day in and day out for most of his starts (honorable mention to rookie pitcher chuck james... he has been great so far). he is the only veteran pitcher that can teach our young pitchers how to pitch. every pitching staff needs that one veteran. John Schuerholz (braves GM) has simply said he doesn't feel he should trade anybody for anything right now because there is simply nothing to trade for out there..... nothing. i think the braves willll bounce back in a year, maybe two. they have brian mccann and jeff francouer who are both doing very well for being so new to the game and the have a very very good minor league system and had an excellent 2006 draft. best short term move for atlanta = sliding chipper back out to left field, sitting ryan langerhans on the bench and putting wilson betemit into the starting rotation playing 3rd base. i don't care if chipper is their poster child, he is not that great of a 3rd baseman.

ps - i miss leo mazzone rocking on the atlanta bench. rob mcdowell has had his chance and i've never seen such bad pitching from the atlanta pitchers.

yeah, but mcdowell can only work with what they give him. they might as well hire you , me and the tumor on juljos balls known as MY MOM to pitch and he would make us better, but still, we wouldnt be pro material.

once glavine took off, they were doomed. then dr. maddux walks back to chi town....... bad news. nothing can replace what those 3 did for over a decade there. MONSTERS. few ppl compare what they did for a team in terms of body of work. biggio, bags, jeter, bernie, manny, pedro, rivera, frank thomas, bonds, etc ,etc,. i.e. the players who stood tall, stayed in one place and garnered a cult following in their towns by just playing thier asses off and being huge when it counted.

glavine is freakin money. maddux is beginning to look past his time. he should start looking to change up his entire routine like glavine did. i can't believe how well he is working out with the mets.

me neither. he went from looking old, beat up, and losing control to a pitcher who completely changed his style and is playing at the top of his NEW GAME. its cool to watch him and pedro take it to a more control oriented game using more off speed stuff and playing head games.

you know what. give canseco credit. he is the only guy who was telling the truth. even schilling looked like an asshole. he went on and on about how bad they were, then when in the spotlight, he saw gene orza and don fehr in the corner and acted the fool.

canseco and giambi get a huge pass in my book, the only two involved to lay it on the table, tell the truth and bear the consequences. the rest of them.... foook u.

agreed, i just think it is funny that is is making a comeback. i think i called that back when he first came out of the closet about steroids. first thing i said to several people "this is his route back into the big leagues." he actually looks like he is in good shape.

I hope by 'nasty' you mean 'shitty' because arod is batting .282 with something like 14 fielding errors this year, and he's a guaranteed no show in the playoffs. That's AAA material.
