I'd like to get people thoughts on this as Im sure you dj's come it against this at house parties all the time.

My best pal just bought a house and was having a house warming on sat night. He spins and so do I and we are constantly buying new stuff and like to think we keep up with the industry constantly and have done for years. So the plan was the two of us would play for the evening/night swapping every hour or so. However, a couple of other friends who used to spin years ago came along also. These guys havent bought a record in about 10 years ago and one of them actually ditches dance music now since he started playing the guitar which annoys me but anyway each to their own.

So they start at us for a go on the decks so my mate told them ok you guys go on at the start for an hour to keep them happy. So they get a shot using my friends records I might add and a couple of hours later they are coming up to myself and mate again going we want to get on again. Then one of them has the cheek to start saying you's are playing for ages wtf come its not fair. I'm not one for confrontations but man this shit winds me up big time and its kind of hard to deal with it when its a mate but it makes my blood boil.

any of yous come across this kind of thing? what would you's do about it?

I'd tell him/her the following:

A. Go buy a house
B. Go buy some music
C. Go buy a dj setup
D. Invite people over for a party where he/she and their best mate will be spinning.
E. Then ask if it's OK if you come over and bug the shit out of them all night to spin even though you weren't asked to....

Look, I'm all for letting some people hit the decks for a bit but I'm sorry, after your "guest set" is through you shut the fuck up and enjoy the party... If you don't like the music/people then keep your mouth shut and leave. You were originally invited to a party as a guest, not as a DJ.

tbh i would give them that second shot because it would show the crowd just how good u and ur m8 is in comparason with the string twatting idiots lol

I ALSO can't stand people who play old shit-obvi huge DJs can throw "classics" in to great effect and even I do it too every ONCE in a while but then there are people (that sound like these cunts) that just have old shit because they only spin records and they haven't bought shit in like a decade-gay ass old prog house or whatever else is in people's bags that would act like this would have to suck
and attention hungry DJs are the worst
