    Orlando scene...

I'm heading over to Orlando in November and was just wondering what the club scene is like these days?

I know Sasha & Digweed used to head over in the 90s when Chris Fortier, etc. had a progressive thing going on - but what's it like now?

    Cheers

Orlando is the gential warts infested crotch of the American club scene. There is NOTHING going on. There's the rare occurrence that someone of at least mediocre talent plays House of Blues for Service Industry Night (Sunday) but that's about it. Crooked Bayou downtown has had notable acts roll through but finding any info before the event takes place is unheard of. Icon (www.icon-nightclub.com) has Courvoisier night every Thursday I think.

          what scene

You can catch some Florida Breaks and plenty of hip hop downtown. Maybe hit a nice martini bar. There is the Farm, Bank, and another new club with IDM. Blueroom mostly has icey breaks. The Orlando scene was destroyed and overrun a few years back.

Yeah, S. Beach is where it's at. Far as the Orlando scene, it's not happening. Although Icon does pull in some big dj's occasionally.

Last month they had Hernan Cattaneo.

I'm optimistic the scene will come back to life...especially if the new mayor lifts the "late-night" ordinances.

Buddy Liar just got re-elected... so doubt anything will change soon. From what I heard he sold out to some large condo developers and they were ripping up Church st. But maybe you know something i don't??

From what i understand, they want to create a big city atmosphere downtown. A lot of contruction going up right now.

They're going to extend the hours and let downtown go nuts again...they have to. Otherwise, Orlando's economy will go down the shitter and all those condos will be vacant.

Besides, who the hell would want to pay premium for location, but can't leave bc there's nothing to do?
