i guess that the shining is the greatest horror movie ever made, i mean this movie beside the horror, has all this things that gives the movie other kind of horror like the poster of the woman with this great afro... etc

but i hate modern horror movies, and avoid watching them whenever possible.

no doubt! the exorcist scared the heck out of me first time i saw it - uncut, uncencored. i had no idea at the time i went to see it what i was in for.

The Shining was the first movie that came to mind for me as well. First time I saw this I can remember the feeling, its creepy for sure.
