    Getting a Treadmill

Considering the copius amounts of food I've been ingesting (thanks to Sugana's INCREDIBLE chef talents), I decided to pick up a treadmill this week. Considering we only have a Sears locally with them delivering / servicing the treadmill, we narrowed it down to the Proform XP 550S

Anyone hear anything about this brand ? Any other recommendations within the $500 - $600 Range ?

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

Simple question K, why don't you buy yourself a pair of decent Nikes and go running outside? Sweating on a treadmill is boring as hell. Unless you're a hamster that is...

usually at the end of my day, I sincerely dont want to get out of the house when I come home. I Just LOVE being home after my long ass days. So this is a no brainer for me. Additionally, I love listening to music as loud as the iPod will take it and running with eyes .... more or less .... shut

so that rules running out as well. Plus its getting really hot in cumberland right now and it snows like crazy as well (if its not raining in the meantime). So I'd much rather do it indoors

well the only "gym" we have locally is a YMCA and I've personally seen kids taking shits in the pool. Considering that, I'm nervous to use the equipment. As for friends, I got all the friends I need, anymore and my 6 degrees of seperation will be down to 3

                          Re: Getting a Treadmill

I run alot, both outside and on a treadmill. The treadmill gets really boring, really quickly, unless you can watch tv while doing it. Better yet, park it in front of a tv with a DVD player and catch up on some movies while exercising.

You said you like ot run with your eyes closed? I know what you mean by zoning out while running, but actually I think its harder to do on the treadmill as balancing is slightly more difficult.

One other note, if you do use a treadmill, make sure to set your incline to 1 or 2 degrees to simulate wind resistance otherwise you won't be able to make a fair comparision on how far you can "really" run.
It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

                            1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                            2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                            3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...

Man, if you can hang, and use that thing for a long time to come, more power to you. Personally, I hate those things. There's nothing like the feel of being outdoors while running. Plus, treadmills hurt my feet no matter what shoes I use and trust me, I've got quality running shoes that are perfect for my feet and stepping patterns.
