Ive never understood this whole disc 1 disc 2 thing. When ever i play a CD, live set, essential mix, mixtape or anything else, I always start at the beginning and play it till the end. But i always think of it a One hole mix.
When disc 1 finishes i put disc 2 on, when disc 2 finishes on to CD 3 and so on. To me when one disc finishes its on to the next part. The same as turning a mix tape over.
Maybe its an age thing is i used to buy albums on vinyl years ago and you had side 1 and side 2 you'd get about 6 tracks then you would have to flip it over. To me it is 1 album not 2
I always liked Dave Seaman's Awakenings CD and Tenaglia's GU London for the way they've added the effects or samples at the end of disc 1 that continue into the beginning of disc 2 to make it seem more like one mix.
As for Jimmy's Bedrock CD, i don't think there's a bad track on it. But hey that's just my opinion
Now i will prob get slagged for this cause i know alot of people liked cd 2 on this comp. but for me a perfect example of cd1 being way better than disk 2 is Nick Warren Shanghi. Cd1 is all class. Fav tracks of the cd if not nealry all are in order.
1) Tini tun - Over it evil shit
2) Starecase - Sunhine
3) Starecase - Vapour Trails
4) Yvel & Tristan - Pillow (Quasar Remix)
5) is a toss up between SJ Esau - Fat Cat and Jacob Todd & Kelly Noland - Somehow (Aural Imbalance Remix)
Thats just my example though. i could not listen to disk 2. Not sure why. maybe cause it might be a bit harder and i am getting older. only a couple good tracks on disk 2 i thought. does anyone else feel the same bout this cd??
