Dave Dean (GIANT) Splits from Avalon

This should be interesrting. I never really liked Avalon as a venue for a club. Dave Dean has been responsible for some of the greatest nights of my life, but he's always had venue problems. Giant @ Circus could never really be described by words. I know we didn't have S&D once a month, but the vive at that place was legenday. I only missed one week out of a year plus residence there... I left the better part of mmy brain at that place.

FROM an e-mail I just got:

Something NEW for YOU in Hollywood on Saturday Nights! Keeping true to our ongoing mission to deliver innovative events and your favorite dance music artists, giant will be unveiling our new Saturday Night venue in September? Vanguard on Hollywood Boulevard.

We'll be taking off the remaining Saturday nights in August while we complete some new enhancements to Vanguard, complimenting its already abundant offerings including the West Coast's premiere Funktion One sound system, Hollywood's largest outdoor patio and gardens featuring a full service bar, a bumping second dance room, a new glass enclosed upstairs VIP lounge overlooking the main dance floor and, dig this, $10 valet parking all night!

should be interesting to see if the avalon continues with electronic music on saturday nights. 3 big competing clubs might be too much.
