Let's hope so, but imo it will only get worse. Two reasons:
    - the grip of corporations on the mass media is finding its way into the newsrooms. When viewer numbers are more important than fair journalistic practices, ye well...
    - propaganda and using information as a weapon is on the rise (again).

As a former journalist, I don't look at my ex colleagues when I seek change. My idealistic bubble bursted after having spent too much time in newsrooms tbh. If there will be any change, it will come from civic journalism as far as the traditional mass media are concerned and civil journalism for the new media (internet).

if you want fair reporting. find two respected people from the far left and far right who hav respect for opinions, and will work together, to act as editors. that way, shit like the plame case and the NYtimes wont happen.

I strongly want to avoid any newsrooms for my future job. I pretty much would get a heart attack if i see a desk from where i have to work. I want a job in the field. There's only option to achieve that and that is by becoming a freelancer. Hopefully im good enough to sell some of my shit...

Actually with almost 100% certainty i can tell within a few years i'll be somewhere in a conflict area or a development country. It only takes a strong will and money for a plain ticket to get there. To stay and survive there would be the hard thing...and hopefully that doesnt drive me back to a desk.

Mysteryland is not really my party.

I went there in 2002 because of Charo, which was fun enough....
Thought to try it again in 2004, but it simply wasnt for me. ID&T has lots of troubles to organize parties for people who love the Extrema vibe.
