She didn't tell her parents since that would cause a lot of shit again (you know why). Her mother seems to be coming around very slowly, but I don't know how and when she's gonna break the news at home. If she's gonna in the first place that is. The crisis in June has done much damage to her respect for her parents. Even to the extent that she hardly talks to her dad anymore since then. To be continued...

Somehow I knew you would say that she didn't tell her parents already...sorry to hear it still though. I hoped to make it kinda "legal" and serious would maybe change the situation. I respect traditions and think some are good, some are bad but from my european view, what should count most to parents is that their kids are healthy and lucky. It is so hard to find "the one" in your Life and normally parents should be glad if her daughter/son wants to marry and has found somebody. Seeing that loving a "foreigner" leeds to a worse relationship between a daughter and her dad ist just sad.

Well, on a terrace of a lakeside restaurant over a nice big Ohrid style grilled trout (could've come in handy to slap her with if she would've said no ). No fancy shit like balloon flights or whatever: I just hit her directly and out of the blue in order to get the maximum result. The poor thing cried her eyes out: success! I'm a bitch, I know

@TomTom: yeah well, it sucks of course. But the most important thing is our committement. What our enviroment thinks of it is of secondary importance. Sounds kinda simplistic, but after a year you "get used" to that crap.

Personally, after reading some of your posts re: your girlfriend, I had a feeling it would happen soon, and that you?d be brave enough to do it despite what her parents? reaction might turn out to be.
